Joker is an upcoming Hindi fantasy adventure film to be the second 3-D Hindi film,[1] and the first 3D film directed by Shirish Kunder.[2] The film will star Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha as the first actors to be seen in a three dimensional format in Hindi cinema.[3] It is the second Hindi film to be shot in 3D after Haunted -- 3D.
A film directed by Vikram Tuli, to be shot in January and February 2011, had the tentative title Joker but will now have a different title
Production

Shirish Kunder had the project in development for several years before finding financial backing, and had to negotiate for use of the specific title which Kunder stated is important to the script itself.[8] The film is being produced by Farah Khan, Shirish Kunder, and Akshay Kumar under the banner of Three's Company and Hari Om Entertainment.[9] This will be the first Bollywood film to be completely shot using 3D cameras and will be released in 3D as well as 2D in theatres.[10] According to director, Shirish Kunder, "It is an underdog story about how individuals make it big in life and in the process, get help from aliens from a fictional planet".[11]

Sonakshi Sinha was roped in to play the main lead opposite Akshay Kumar. Shreyas Talpade will play Akshay's brother in the film.[12] Female lead opposite to Shreyas will be played by Minisha Lamba,[13] who will enact the role of an innocent TV reporter.[14] Sonakshi will also perform an item number in the film.[15] American actor Alexx ONell was also signed to play a role in the film.[7]

The first schedule of shooting was initially slated to take place in Ludhiana, however the location was changed to Chandigarh.[16] The shooting began on 14 February 2011,[17][18] in Chandigarh.[19] The crew finished the 19 day schedule on 12 March 2011, finishing 40% of the production work.[20] The second schedule started on 17 May 2011 in Mumbai[17] and concluded in June 2011.[21] The film is now 60% complete.[22]

The soundtrack of the film is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, nephew of noted composer, A. R. Rahman, who is on his Bollywood debut.[23] He has already recorded the first song for Joker. The song has been sung by Daler Mehndi and Sonu Kakkar and has reportedly come out very well.
